Hot Italian Provolone Chicken Dutch Oven

A simple italian chicken dish with lots of cheese

Ingredients

  • Avocado oil - 3 tablespoons
  • Italian seasoning - 1 tablespoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Chicken breast (cubed) - 1 lb
  • Banana pepper rings - ½ cup
  • Whole pitted black olives - ¼ cup
  • Large tomato (quartered) - 1
  • Shredded provolone - 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven broiler to high.
  2. Add the avocado oil, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and the cubed chicken to a bowl and toss to coat.
  3. Allow the chicken to marinate for about 10 minutes (you can also marinate overnight).
  4. Heat your cast iron over medium heat.
  5. Add the chicken mixture and cook for about 8 minutes. Flip occasionally until it cooks through.
  6. Add in the black olives, banana pepper rings, and tomato.
  7. top with the provolone.
  8. Transfer the pot to the oven and cook for about 5 minutes, until the cheese starts to bubble.
  9. Serve.
